The label “YouTube flashcard generator” hides the important distinction: accepting a YouTube link does not tell you whether you will get cards, a tutor session, an editable deck, or a file you can move elsewhere.

It also advertises built-in FSRS and `.apkg` export. These are vendor claims, not results from testing for this article.

Among the four documented product routes, its `.apkg` export is the most explicit exit into Anki. That makes AnkiDecks the straightforward choice if “YouTube to flashcards” really means “YouTube to a deck I can continue editing and reviewing in Anki.”

Timestamps are also useful for verification. They do not prove a card is correct, but they make it faster to jump back to the source and check a questionable answer.

### Gizmo: a tutor lesson, not a documented YouTube card import

Gizmo needs careful wording because two different ideas sit close together in its interface.
