Sobre este baralho
Learn the Greek alphabet with 72 English flashcards covering all 24 Greek letters. These Greek letter flashcards practice three mappings for every letter: an uppercase Greek symbol to its conventional English name, a lowercase Greek symbol to its conventional English name, and the English name to both symbols. This gives equal practice with uppercase and lowercase Greek letters without adding unrelated material.
Cards use short standalone prompts so Latin-looking forms remain clear outside the deck. Each back begins with the answer. The Sigma cards also note ς as the word-final lowercase form; it is a positional form, not a 25th letter or a separate recall direction.
The deterministic sequence starts with a small foundation set, then interleaves familiar-looking and less familiar forms. The three cards for one letter stay at least three unrelated cards apart, and each name-to-symbol card follows both recognition cards. Visually similar forms are separated to reduce short-term cueing.
Excluded: pronunciation and audio, Ancient-versus-Modern Greek phonetics, transliteration, handwriting and stroke order, accented or polytonic forms, archaic letters, mathematical meanings, font and glyph variants, vocabulary, and full-course claims. Those topics require additional context or different practice formats and would blur this deck's focused symbol-and-name recall.
Letter pairs and Unicode character identities were verified against the Unicode 17.0 Greek and Coptic chart and names list. Conventional learner-facing names were reconciled with the Open University Greek alphabet guide and the Germanna Community College Greek Letter Reference Sheet. Unicode spells the character label for Λ λ as “LAMDA”; this deck uses the conventional learner-facing name “Lambda.” The final lowercase form ς follows the Open University guidance for word-final sigma.
The 24 letter pairs and conventional English names are common knowledge. The independently authored prompts, answers, sequence, description, and original abstract cover are released under CC0 1.0.
Independent, unofficial learning deck. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Unicode, the Unicode Consortium, the Open University, or Germanna Community College. No source wording or third-party study-tool content was copied.
