ASVAB Flashcards: Verbal, Math, Science & Technical Review
Review the facts worth recalling before you spend time on full practice questions. These 220 English flashcards cover all four official ASVAB domains and map to the ten computerized subtests without copying the test.
What the cards practice
- Verbal — 45 cards: produce meanings for 20 useful words, connect 10 roots or affixes with their meanings and examples, and recall 15 bounded reading concepts such as main idea, inference, tone, context clues, and passage structure.
- Math — 55 cards: recall number rules, algebra relationships, geometry formulas, and ten common setup patterns for rates, interest, percent change, mixtures, work, probability, scale, and word-to-expression translation.
- Science — 40 cards: connect life-science structures and processes, chemistry and physics terms, and Earth and space processes with their defining functions or principles.
- Technical — 65 cards: connect electrical quantities, circuit behavior, vehicle and shop components, tools, simple machines, and physical principles with their functions, units, formulas, or relationships.
- Spatial — 15 cards: recall bounded rotation, reflection, boundary-matching, silhouette, overlap, scale, landmark, symmetry, and viewpoint concepts that support spatial-relation practice.
The cards use useful forward mappings such as term → meaning, quantity → unit or formula, component → function, and principle → relationship. A few prompts ask for a setup from familiar wording. The deck does not mechanically reverse every fact, add answer-choice recognition, or turn every definition into several near-duplicates.
What needs separate practice
Flashcards are a poor substitute for passage-heavy Paragraph Comprehension drills, timed multi-step Arithmetic Reasoning problems, and full visual Assembling Objects items. Those need original passages or diagrams, realistic answer choices, and time pressure, so they are explicitly excluded here. The deck also excludes score tables, changing service cutoffs, advanced electronics design, diagnostic auto repair, hazardous procedures, and obscure trade trivia.
Learning order
The sequence makes repeated passes across verbal, math, science, technical, and spatial material. Foundations arrive before dependent knowledge: number operations before algebra and applied setups, cell and matter basics before larger systems, electrical quantities before circuit rules, and component names before mechanical relationships. Related directions and near-duplicates are separated by at least three unrelated cards where practical; the later technical tail keeps rotating among electronics, auto, and mechanics.
Scope and provenance
The official ASVAB subtests page defines the four domains and ten computerized subtests. Its administration note explains that Auto Information and Shop Information are separate on the computerized test but combined on the paper-and-pencil test and for the reported AS score. The official preparation guidance recommends a solid foundation in mathematics, English, science, and technical coursework.
The facts are common high-school and introductory technical knowledge. The prompts, answers, selection, and order were independently written and manually checked. No competitor cards or third-party media were used. The generated cover is original and contains no official marks.
The Common knowledge · CC0 1.0 label applies to the original wording, organization, metadata, and cover to the extent applicable rights exist. It does not claim ownership of facts or third-party names.

This is an independent, unofficial study deck. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supplied with questions by the ASVAB Testing Program or the U.S. Department of Defense. No official questions, passages, answer choices, score tables, curriculum wording, or protected prep-book wording were copied.

Carte 203
Question
For equally likely outcomes, how is probability found?
Réponse
Favorable outcomes divided by total possible outcomes.
Carte 204
Question
What is a closed circuit?
Réponse
A complete conducting path that allows current to flow.
Carte 205
Question
How does a scale drawing connect drawing length to actual length?
Réponse
Corresponding lengths form an equal ratio using one consistent scale factor.
Carte 206
Question
What are the main jobs of tire tread?
Réponse
Provide grip and channel water away from the tire's contact area.

Réponse
and .
Carte 208
Question
What does Pascal's principle say?
Réponse
A change in pressure applied to a confined fluid is transmitted undiminished throughout the fluid and to the container walls.
Carte 209
Question
Why must you reverse the order in a phrase such as “5 less than ”?
Réponse
“5 less than ” means , because the amount is subtracted from .
Carte 210
Question
What is a short circuit?
Réponse
An unintended low-resistance path that can produce dangerously high current.
Carte 211
Question
What does engine oil do?
Réponse
Lubricates moving parts, reduces friction and wear, and helps carry heat and contaminants away.
Carte 212
Question
What does a capacitor store?
Réponse
Electric charge and energy in an electric field.
Carte 213
Question
What is the buoyant force on an immersed object equal to?
Réponse
The weight of the fluid the object displaces.
Carte 214
Question
What does a fuse do?
Réponse
Melts and opens the circuit when current exceeds its rated limit.
Carte 215
Question
What does friction do?
Réponse
Opposes relative motion or the tendency of motion between contacting surfaces.
Carte 216
Question
What does a resistor do in a circuit?
Réponse
Limits current or creates a controlled voltage drop.
Carte 217
Question
How does a lower center of gravity usually affect stability?
Réponse
It makes an object less likely to tip.
Carte 218
Question
What does a circuit breaker do?
Réponse
Opens a circuit when current is excessive and can usually be reset after the fault is cleared.
Carte 219
Question
What is torque?
Réponse
The turning effect of a force: force times perpendicular lever arm.
